Issue Seventy-Four

“On the sidewalk, he held

the egg, plucked carefully

from dead leaves and twisted vines.

She turned her head, braced

for the splatter

of shell, of life

upon pavement…”

  1. Kohl’s “Burn Baby, Burn” was riveting… the combination of language and pacing kept me right with it the whole way. Excellent piece!

  2. Love your homage to Olaf Pruffer! I too have had favorite profs, but I came across his notorious father in a book about the Middle East. It said they we r long estranged, so I was delighted to find info on him at Kent State. My mother was a German immigrant and I grew up.in Indiana.
    All the best to you,
