  1. I love the contrast between the passion expressed in the images of the valley and the city and the exreme negativity of his friend,
in Stephen Byrnes poem “Lets Recollect the Madness” Great powerful poem.

  2. Delighted to read this issue – spotted Stephen Byrne’s poem (a poet I know personally, ahem!) – Let’s Recollect the Madness. It’s set in Frisco and he brought it wonderfully to life. I lived there myself for 2 months and it was a real trip down memory lane reading the poem. Great work Stephen and keep up the great editing, Crack the Spine!

  3. Fantastic Issue, I really enjoyed it. I have to agree with the above in feeling that “Lets Recollect the Madness” was a standout piece for me. Very powerful indeed!

  4. Well done on the issue. Its a good read. i enjoyed “Lets collect the madness” and “On watching Jack play guitar. Interesting pieces.

  5. Some great stuff in here! Really enjoyed Stephen Byrne’s “Let’s Recollect the Madness”…I like how the style of the poem itself gives a flavour of San Francisco and the Beat Tradition – the theme of friendship, heading west, the directness of the voice.

  6. Some great reading in this issue. Really enjoyed Brian’s “Just a Patch of Grass” and Stephen’s “Let’s Recollect the Madness”, there is something about both of them I can relate to! Keep up the good work, great stuff!
